All About Me
Chef Rah Virgo, of Hispanic-Jamaican descent, was raised in Harlem, NY. As a graduate at the top of her class from ICE Institute in 2015, she honed her culinary skills in some of the tri-state area's most upscale restaurants, including Battello, Parlor, AbiGail Kirsch, Del Frisco Steak House, and Ridgewood Golf Club.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Chef Rah is deeply committed to social justice and charity work. As the Director of Special Events for The Harlem F.U.N.D., she has been dedicated to feeding Harlem’s less fortunate during the holidays since 2017, providing not only food but all other necessity items related to the humane well-being of the less fortunate members of the Harlem community.
Her responsibilities as Special Events Director includes overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of community events, such as holiday food drives, charity galas, and fundraising dinners. Rah also shoulders the responsibility of recruiting, training and managing members and volunteers of the organization to assist with event preparation, execution and post-event activities.
In addition to her charitable efforts, Rah is the owner of RahRahCaters and Island Lobster. Alongside her husband, Chef Rich, she runs Island Lobster Food Truck & Catering. Through her work as a socially responsible business owner, Chef Rah continues to bring both exquisite flavors and heartfelt service to her community.
